Over the… Iron fence

Yes, that is the way you can name the situation around the Hungarian consulate after the implementation of visas for Ukrainian citizens on the 1st of November 2003 for the trips to Hungary. We already passed all this just what isn't needed. Something similar happened 15 years ago, but it wasn't as embarrassing as when the Soviet Union opened the borders and we began to attack the OVIRs. But now the west side (Hungary) put a iron fence between us. We should remark that Hungary was the last to do so. But it doesn't matter. We have been assured that this is simply a formality, necessary condition of the Hungarian membership in European union. It was like everything is ready for the civilized and fast (max five days!!!) visa legalization. But the main thing is that it's free of charge!!! But everyone knows: you can find free cheese only in the mousetrap. Unless the thunder is not seen the Slavic man won't cross. The day has come... is the 3rd of November, the first business day in Hungarian consulate in Uzhgorod. But the strange thing is that it wasn't shown on the television, television that likes to tell about our problems. But it wasn't shown on our television either. Maybe it's because we don't like to shown other's problems. It's a disgrace because the events that happened and happen near the Hungarian everyday beginning from the 3rd of November is our fault! What a great material could we get for the next European session! But it's not late yet...

The quantity of people wanting to get visa is rising daily. The time for those documents is rising also. On the 6th of November you can receive the tags for documents which you can give on the 16th of November! Notice that you get the tags not for receipt but for the applying! Now add promised 5 day for receipt, as a result it takes more than two weeks. Next, in order to get the tag you must stand in line (not only stand in line but push others with cursing words and fists, it's impossible not to use them) a couple of nights and days. For sure it will take you three weeks.

Next, if you want to fill the consulate blank form you have had the higher education because the sample nobody has. There is no information stand in the street near the consulate. There is no canopy for the people expected to give the documents. In the adjoining building the toilet has appeared but it is a merit of businessmen. We can consider the firms' appearance in the adjoining buildings as a merit of businessmen. These firms help people to fill in the blank forms. Every day people attack the firms and the consulate. Even a glass broken takes place because there are no iron fences around these buildings.

Every demand generates an offer. The suspicious persons offer to accelerate the process of visa legalization. The prices vary from 20 dollars to heaven. The appetites of different people are different. The crown looks for every step of the consulate workers. Every step of the consulate workers means self-interest for those people. We can't affirm that everything goes like we said.

But there is no doubt that the situation around the visa legalization requires radical changes.
