Victor Juschenko Had a Meeting with the Authorities of Eurovision

On Friday Victor Juschenko had a meeting with the Supervisor of the Eurovision Song Contest at the European Broadcasting Union Svante Stockselius and the head of the Television Department of European Languages Union Bjorn Ericssen.After the meeting Juschenko conducted the conference, at which the preparations for Eurovision 2005 in Ukraine were discussed.The following authorities took part in the conference: Vice Prime minister for Humanitarian Policy and co-head of the organizing committee of the song contest Mikola Tomenko, the mayor of Kiev Olexander Omelchenko,the Secretary of the State Olexander Zinchenko and the newly-appointed president of NTCU Taras Stetskiv.



Victor Juschenko emphasized that it’s the matter of honor for Ukraine to hold Eurovision on a very high level and he expects the Ukrainian authorities to do everything possible for it. According to the President, Ukraine is looking forward to the contest and realizes its responsibility for holding it. During the conference Victor Juschenko pointed out to all the participants the importance of enlivening their actions in preparing for the contest and solving all problematic matters as quickly as possible.



“We take Eurovision as another opportunity to open Ukraine to the world and to demonstrate its originality,” – said the Ukrainian President.
