The press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations announced this in a statement.
"The position of scientists and the prime minister (Mykola Azarov) on consolidation of the second time zone in Ukraine will form the basis of the bill that will be prepared and sent to the parliament for a vote," Minister of Emergency Situations Viktor Baloha is quoted as saying in the statement.
According to the minister, scientists have recommended that the government switch to the summer time in the spring and switch to the winter time in the autumn and remain there.
This recommendation is connected with the fact that Ukraine will host the European football championships in 2012.
As Ukrainian News earlier reported, Azarov previously said that he considered it necessary to adopt a fixed time in Ukraine and that it should correspond to the UTC +2 time zone (winter time).
On January 25, the government decided to postpone approval of a bill on the procedures for calculating time in Ukraine to allow it to discuss the issue with scientists.
