Money raised for EURO 2012

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has drawn over UAH 700 million (UAH 7.99 / USD 1) from the issue of target bonds for financing preparations to the UEFA 2012 European Football Championship, says Acting Finance Minister Ihor Umanskyi.

"About 80% of the sum has been already used," he said. In the acting minister's words, the money was spent on reconstruction of airports, the Olympic national sports complex in Kyiv, and the Metallist stadium in Kharkiv. Ukraine and Poland won UEFA tenders for hosting the European football finals in 2012.
