The former head of the National Security Service of Ukraine, Igor Smeshko, stated that nor ex-presidentof Ukraine, Leonid Kuchma neither the ex-premier of Ukraine, Viktor Yushchenko, were not involved in illegal selling of misseles X-55. "Viktor Yushchenko did not have any real influence on the value process of information and further selling of any weapon. The National Service of Ukraine is always the only body "patronating" this sphere of national interests.
Touching upon Leonid Kuchma, I should say that it was he who let the National security Service coolaborate with the foreign partners in order to investigate the selling of the rockets," said Smeshko in response to the journalists' question about participating of some officials in the smuggling of missle.
We remind that in 2004 the National Security Service of Ukraine investigated and terminated the activity of international criminal group of weapon-dealers on the territory of Ukraine. The citizens of Russia, Ukraine and Australia participated in it.
In 2000-2001, Ukraine sold 12 cruise missiles X-55 to China and Iran masking it by the transportation from Ukraine to Russia, "Interfax" stated.
The above-mentioned misselles did not have warheads, that is why they might be used in command operations only with the help of special planes.
