The Gunners have brought in some “in form” players only to see them fizzle out. Andrei Arshavin burned brightly for a brief period and by the time he left he was a shell of the player who had arrived. Then there is Marouane Chamakh, coming from Bordeaux and acclaimed on the continent and the UK as the missing link to Arsenal’s attack. He has languished in mediocrity (at best) while warming a seat at the Emirates for the most part. There is also the impending arrival of Lukas Podolski, as with all teams, there are more players than positions
But let’s not talk the present; let’s talk the future. The biggest suitor currently that is publicly seeking his services is Arsenal. Moving from Craven Cottage to the Emirates is an ascending step in any player’s career, at least at first glance.

Even Newcastle has a stable of emerging talent in Ben Arfa, Cabaye, Cisse, and the established Ba. Does Dempsey want to audition all over? The end of his career is a possible result should he make the move.
