The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine decided not to postpone the Junior Eurovision 2009 song contest in Kyiv because of the flu epidemic. As planned, the contest will take place November 16 through 21, the press service of the National Television Company reported.
"The health ministry is drafting recommendations concerning the contest to instruct children and adults accompanying them how to minimize the infection risk. Those recommendations will be sent to all members of the delegations expected to come to Kyiv," says Ruslan Tkachenko, executive director of the contest. Preparations for the contest are continuing, and 90% of the work has been done already. Starting on November 5 foreign delegations are coming to Kyiv's Sports Palace to install the equipment required for the contest.
