Transcarpathia fights floods

The floods reported from Transcarpathia after heavy rains and snow melting hit seven districts, including private housing estates, farmland, motor roads and waterproof facilities.

Emergencies ministry, regional water and road economy teams are engaged in the mitigation effort. On Sunday afternoon, the situation began returning to stable after local rivers receded. Yet, in the lower reaches of the Tisza, Borzhava and Latorytsia further afflux is expected. But experts hope the biggest problems are over.
