The Yedynnyi Tsentr political party’s leader Viktor Baloha has rejected Prime Minister Mykola Azarov’s proposal to head the Emergency Situations Ministry.
Baloha announced this at a press conference in Dnipropetrovsk.
«There was a proposal to joint the government, to head the ministry, from the prime minister,» Baloha said.
He did not say when the post was offered to him.
He stressed that the most important thing to him right now is the forthcoming local elections.
The parliament relieved Nestor Shufrych of the post of Emergency Situations Minister on July 10.
Experts have said that Baloha or Parliamentary Deputy David Zhvania of the Our Ukraine-People’s Self-Defense bloc could be appointed as the emergency situations minister.
