12 children are adopted in Ukraine every day in 2009

In 2009, 12 orphaned children and children, deprived of parental care, are adopted every day in Ukraine.

Out of this number, seven children are adopted by the Ukrainians and five - by foreigners, such data have been made public by Family, Youth and Sports Minister Yuriy Pavlenko. He emphasized that today 20 fold more children get to children's homes and foster homes against five years ago, the national adoption level grew by 30% over recent years and the number of children who find a new family every day considerably exceeds the number of those who loses their parents. Last November President Viktor Yushchenko has established the Adoption Day. It is marked every year on September 30.
