70,000 female soldiers celebrate International Women’s Day

Because it's after midnight in Ukraine, which means it's March 8th in the country.March 8th is an official holiday in Ukraine, based on the Soviet "International Women's Day" in honor of Communist activist Klara Tsetkin. A day before Women's day, the country's military showered gifts, flowers and chocolate upon the women serving in the armed forces. The number of women in Ukraine's army is growing according to the Defense ministry. There are currently more than 70,000 women serving in the armed forces.
