Zeonbud, a national digital television service provider, has built one of the largest digital networks in Europe, which brings digital television for 95% of Ukrainians.
More than 22 national channels have begun broadcasting in the network. The complete introduction of the digital television in the air will happen only after every Ukrainian is able to use this service. According to chairman of the State Committee for Television and Radio Broadcasting Oleksandr Kurdynovych, the digital signal can be taken by the so-called set-top boxes. However, for low-income households government assistance will be provided. In particular, the state budget for 2012 has already allocated for these purposes UAH 350 million.
