Eustream launches Open Season procedure for Slovakia-Ukraine interconnection

Eustream, the Slovak gas transmission system operator starts the Open Season procedure in line with the Memorandum of Understanding signed between Eustream and Ukrtransgaz.In this process the company will investigate the binding market interest in transmission capacities to Uzhgorod, Ukraine, via Vojany pipeline, Eustream said in a press release.

The Slovakia-Ukraine interconnection will link two gas transmission systems of Eustream and Ukrtransgaz in a new interconnection point Budince, which is located not far from the existing interconnection point Velke Kapusany.As was reported, an agreement on the Vojany-Uzhgorod pipeline was signed in Bratislava on April 28, 2014.Ukraine expects to launch reverse purchases of gas from the European Union via Slovakia as of September 1, 2014.
