Interior Minister Yuriy Lutsenko is going to resign if the law, signed by president Yushchenko, restoring criminal and administrative immunity for local councils’ deputies comes into effect. He stated that at the press conference in Uzhgorod, Obkom reports.
According to Lutsenko, if the Constitutional Court declares this bill absolutely legal, he’ll resign from the post of Interior Minister.
As known, Yushchenko stated on Thursday he would initiate judicial legal recourse in the Constitutional Court as to lawfulness of these changes.
As known, the president has signed a bill “About changes to the law “The status of local councils’ MPs”.
