Armed militants take over Security Service office in Alchevsk, Luhansk region
"Armed militants took over the Security Service office in the industrial town of Alchevsk, Luhansk region on Friday morning," Vladislav Seleznev, spokesman for the counterterrorism operation, reported.
"At around 5 a.m., unknown armed people fired several shots near the building of the SBU department in Alchevsk. There was only one duty officer in the building at the moment. He was not injured. The attackers have taken several computers out of the building and are holding the building," Seleznev said.
60 military servicemen treated in Kyiv after injuries sustained in counterterrorism operation
As the Defence Ministry reported on Friday, 60 military servicemen are being treated at the central military hospital in Kyiv after sustaining injuries during the counterterrorism operation in the east of the country.
50 of them are army soldiers and officers and 10 are from the National Guard and other military units. According to Vitaliy Andronatiy, director of the ministry's health department, 140 servicemen have been given medical care since the start of the operation in April.
