Ukraine must reply Czech Republic

Ukraine should give a symmetric answer to the Czech Republic concerning visa regulations, Borys Tarasiuk, ex-minister of foreign affairs and People's Movement of Ukraine (Rukh) leader, told a press conference in Kyiv Wednesday.

In his words, the Czech demand that Ukrainian citizens present a health certificate in getting long-term visas “goes beyond the frames of the visa facilitation agreement between Ukraine and the European Union, and contravenes the spirit of the agreement.” In this situation, he says, Ukraine should either seek for lifting of the new requirement or introduce a similar one for Czech citizens. In the opinion of Tarasiuk, this provision in the Czech laws may cause problems in that country's relations not only with Ukraine but also with other states.
