According to leaks to the Swiss press, Yushchenko plans to see doctors at the Geneva University Hospital. The hospital’s official on Friday refused to confirm Yushchenko’s arrival, though.
According to the Ukrainian presidential press-service, Yushchenko will fly back home on Sunday. In his trip the president is accompanied by Prosecutor-General Svyatoslav Piskun, Itar-Tass correspondent Vitaly Matarykin reports from Kiev. Piskun plans to contact doctors to clear up certain details that may help investigate Yushchenko’s poisoning.
Yushchenko felt ill on September 5 2004 and took a course of treatment at an Austrian clinic. Doctors say Yushchenko was poisoned with dioxin.
