Polish Ambassador in Ukraine Jacek Kluczkoswki went for a two-day familiarization trip to Transcarpathian(Zakarpattia). In Uzhhorod the diplomat met Head of the Regional State Administration Oleh Havashi, who acquainted the guest with the state of cooperation with Polish regions.

Poland ranks the sixth by an investment level in the Zakarpattia economy. Cooperation has been arranged in the humanitarian sphere. The Polish national-cultural society is functioning in the region and the Center of Ukrainian-Polish Initiatives has been opened a year ago. The matter concerned opening of the Volosate-Lubnia checking point. An issue of implementing principles of the local border movement has been discussed (the agreement about it was signed between Ukraine and Poland on March 28, 2008).
The Ambassador stood for the fact that Zakarpattia citizens residing near the Ukrainian-Polish border could enjoy advantages of the local border movement. He also proposed to intensify relations between power authorities of the Ukrainian and Polish border territories and to arrange contacts between public organizations, higher educational establishments, etc.
